Hami! We had a good chat about what soup means to Koreans and where it began - a lot of sentiment about the most efficient way to keep themselves nourished during times of low resources. Rice in soup would be the most filling thing you could have and cook for your family.
Hami took me here as my welcome soup meal haha - she said it’s her husband’s favourite soup and a Korean classic. Sundae is Korean blood sausage; gukbap is rice & soup (guk - soup ; bap - rice) Again the broth itself is not mega flavoursome but they have a fermented shrimp sauce on the side to add in or dunk the meat in. The soup is CHOCKA BLOCK w pork it’s actually kinda fucked lol. Sausage is interesting texture - almost like mochi.
